Hello there,

My name is Puddle and I am deaf.  I have what is known as "white cat symdrome". That is a condition where a pure white kitty with blue eyes is born deaf.  It is a genetic condition and not a health problem, in fact I'm a very healthy boy!
I came to my foster family back in 2016 as an 8 week old kitten.  I had been found during a bad rainstorm in the Sugarland, Texas area and brought in by a good sam who fostered me for a couple of weeks until I could go with another foster who then got me all vetted and sent me to Austin to the Siamese Rescue and to my current foster Mom.  I got adopted right away by someone who had experience with deaf cats but after two years she says I am not happy and that since she lives in an apartment that my loud meowing is a problem for her.
Now I'm back with my original foster Mom and Sister and I am still the same affectionate, loving, stunninly beautiful kitty as I was back then!  I have only been here a couple of weeks and I'm still getting used to things, especially having a lot of kitties around.  I do have a fairly loud voice but not to the point it should bother neighbors unless you live in an apartment with very thin walls <G>.  Foster Mom is teaching me a sign that means "use your inside voice" and I am beginning to understand and that means that we can establish some signs that would be great communication tools for me.
I am very, very interested in the other kitties and I'm almost ready to be introduced.  I'm in a large crate that is high enough that the others can see me and I can see them but no contact as yet.  I have been taken out and held and loved on a regular basis and I do like that a LOT.  I have met a couple of the kitties and I'm curious but they hiss and since I can't hear it isn't a problem for me but foster Mom wants to go slowly so they won't try to beat up on me.
The only time I really meow, except for some burbles and small meows, is when I am lonely or I need something - like my food or water bowl is low.  Until I got used to things sort of being "shut down" for bedtime I got a little upset and wondered where everyone went, but once I got used to it and realized they were just going to sleep, I bed down now at the same time.
I love toys.  I have my own little plastic bug thing that I love and sometimes I knock it out of the cage and I'm very happy when it gets put back it.  I have a dangle toy that hangs from the top of the cage that I like to play with too, but it's hard to really get a good play session in inside a cage.  I can't wait until I can be out all the time and have friends to play with or my own home with my own BFF family.

I show as sponsorship only right now, but if you are interested in meeting me and possibly adopting me, please contact my foster Mom and talk to her.  I'm really a beautiful and affectionate and playful guy who deserves a forever home!
