Well, I'm on my way with my foster Dad to my new home in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.    I know it sounds strange, but I LOVE car trips, especially in the RV.    It was sad leaving my friends in Austin yesterday, but I remember the good times I had with my "other" foster Mom and Dad and all the kitties - particularly my former girlfriends!  Can't wait to see them and snuggle again.    Please take a look at my photos and you'll see some of my "going away" photos from yesterday.   Even though I'm living in TN, I can still be adopted from ASR, so please don't let that deter you from inquiring about adopting me!

My foster mom can't believe how much I've come out of my shell in the past couple of months.    Perhaps it's due in part to the fact that I REALLY AM a social, loving cat and so many of my foster friends have been adopted.    Roxy and Lyonel have both gone to forever homes, so now it's just me, Sheena and Tamerlane, the 16 year old black DSH that is a permanent resident here.    I like to sleep snuggled up next to one of them at night and really ask for attention and petting from my foster mom.    I even let her pick me up, carry me around and love on me - including accepting kisses on my little fuzzy head!   It's hard to believe that a year ago I was an untouchable "feral". 

Since I haven't had anyone come forward to adopt me, it looks like I'm going to live in Tennessee with my former foster family later this month.   I had really hoped I'd find a Texas family who would love me, but so far, no one has asked about me.    It's not too late to consider me if you're interested in adopting a handsome, loving Meezer like me.    Just contact my foster mommy and ask to meet me.   

A couple of side-notes:  I have learned to play very efficiently with my Turbo-Track Cat Scratcher toys and can make the balls whiz around really fast on the tracks with just a quick flip of my paw.    I love to make it go in the middle of the night and early in the morning!   It's really fun!   I also have found my meezer voice at last.   I have a deep voice that my foster mommy thinks is funny.   I like to talk to her to let her know I want more attention.   It works, so I'm learning to speak up!  

My foster moms finally figured out my full name, too:  Juan Carlos Sanchez.   You can call me J.C., Sanchez, Carlos or whatever you want, but please don't call me a dog!   I'm too cool to be a dog!

I'm proud to say that I'm learning a lot of new things at my new foster home in West Lake Hills.   It took me about 10 days, but I figured out these new people are not going to do anything bad to me, unless running the vacuum cleaner counts.   I don't like the vacuum.    Actually, I can blame the vacuum in part for helping me learn how to use the kitty door to the screened in porch.    See how smart I am?  

Magnolia got adopted, so now I have Roxy Valentine and Lyonel to pal around with as well as a couple of my foster mom's cats.   Roxy and I kind of look like we could be a pair, but she lets me know she's in charge around here, so there have been no free snuggles coming from that girl.    Lyonel's nice too and he likes to play, so we have a good time hanging out or playing with toys.    I really love the laser pointer and Cat Dancer.     You should see me catch them - I'm quite athletic!  

My second foster mom says I need a home where my people will be patient with me and let me come out in my own good time, because I really am an affectionate boy.    I can't stand it if one of the other cats is getting petted and not me - I have to squeeze right in-between to get my share of attention.    I didn't do that at first though, I needed time to adjust and size up the place.   

She also thinks that a home with at least one other affectionate kitty would be good for me, since I really do like to snuggle with other kitties and having other cats makes me feel more at home.    If you have a nice kitty or two who is in need of a handsome (neutered) nice friend, I hope you'll think about adopting me.      I'm a native Texan, you see, and I'd like to stay in Texas if I can.    If no one adopts me before my first foster mom comes back to Texas this fall, I'm going to be riding back to the east coast with her - and I'd really LOVE to have my own home with kitties to love before then.    So please help me stay in Texas and consider adopting me if you can give me the love and patience I need to continue learning about the good life.

Sheesh!  I've been on this website for about a year now, but you couldn't see me because I was on "domestication hold".  That's because I came into the shelter as a feral (i.e. doomed) and it took my first foster mom all that time to get me to realize that this people thing was A-OK.  And suddenly I've turned into a cupcake who sleeps on the bed, raises my shoulders in anticipation of being petted, and, as you can see in one of my photos, loves belly rubs.  I don't know how I figured it out.  Maybe I just need to live in an RV, 'cause that's where it happened!  I just got back to Austin after traveling with my former foster family and 15 other cats for a month and the only thing I didn't like about it was that I had to be in a crate while we're on the move. 

My former foster mom was the only one who worked on me during that year, so I basically didn't know foster dad from the mailman.  But once I became a lover boy, it wasn't just for mom.  That's dad's arm in the belly rub photo.  I've since come to live with a new foster mom in West Lake Hills and am looking for the perfect forever home.  As you can see from my photos, I have a gorgeous seal point coat, beautiful blue eyes and the cutest little white tip of fur at the end of my tail!   My perfect adopter would have loads of patience and be willing to let me hide until I'm comfortable with my new surroundings.    I also REALLY REALLY love other cats - particularly ones like Magnolia (see our snuggly photos) who can cuddle, sleep and play with me.   If you don't already have a cat like this, please consider adopting a companion for me and I'll love you forever.
