Hi! My name is Jeremy and I'm from Bay City, TX. I was in an icky, overcrowded shelter and some wonderful ladies decided to take me out and take me home and take good care of me. I was very skinny because I had something wrong with my tummy. It's been quite a while and they've had a hard time figuring out why I eat really, really good, but I am not gaining much weight. I had to travel all the way to Austin and it upset my tummy again, but things are improving now and I'm feeling much better, especially since they re-joined me with my best friend Jena! She's a pretty little Blue girl who thinks I hung the moon! She's sort of scared and with me there she's better too.
I am not quite ready to go home with someone yet, but you can sure come and check me out and make some future plans! I'd TRULY like to be adopted with Jena so we can stay together so let's talk! Oops...talk to my foster Mom and please consider giving us a great forever home and we'll give back lots of smiles and love!
UPDATE: Jeremy has been through the mill. Right after I got his intestinal issues cleared up and he gained some weight he got a URI (respiratory) and got very sick. He's almost back to healthy BUT because he did not respond completely to antibiotics and had to have anti-viral meds as well he may be in for some re-curring issues with his health. He also is on a restricted ingredient diet and until he's completely well I will not be able to experiment with his diet to see if he truly does have food intolerances. Since Jeremy has a somewhat compromised immune system right now I will only place him in a one cat home at this time.
UPDATE: Jeremy once again has had a bout of what seems like colitis and I'm trying very hard to put him back right. It started when he went in to get neutered and I'm thinking it was the stress. He's currently on meds and a special diet, so keep your fingers crossed for a positive outcome.
UPDATE: Good news! Jeremy is back to right and going strong. I'm not convinced that the grain free diet is not part of the problem so I'm trying to integrate a bit of "normal" good quality food and he seems to be enjoying it and doing very well. I'm even thinking Jeremy could be adopted now as long as he is either an only kitty or buddies with another cat who can eat the same consistent diet as he does. Let me know if you might be interested in adopting Jeremy and we can do a trial period if you'd like.
UPDATE: I am convinced it was the grain free food. I've done some research and some cats just do not tolerate it. Jeremy is now on regular dry kitten food and on occasion gets into the other cats food and hasn't had any problems! Yeah! I'm pronoucing him healthy and ready to get himself a forever home!
NOTE from Foster Mom: Please be aware I will CHOOSE the adopter for Jeremy very carefully. Jeremy needs a fairly stress-free environment. That does not necessarily mean quiet or sedate. He is very comfortable in our crazy home with cats coming and going and people coming and going and loads of sounds. He needs lots of love and attention and above all someone who is extremely observant to changes in his physical condiiton. IF you can offer that kind of home and are interested in giving Jeremy a forever home, please contact me for a visit.
